How does it work?
Power Hitting is just a skill, similar to playing front foot drive or back foot cut shot. Anyone can improve the skill by training.
However increasing your power hitting ability requires more than traditional practice and repetition.
Our Power Hitting System was developed by breaking down the biomechanics of various Power Hitting shots used in a match.
Developing Power Base
BASE | STANCE | LOAD
BASE: Your body’s ability to maintain balance
and form while performing various power shots. Stance: Ability to activate the proper muscles of the base, for maximum power. Load: Keeps the body stabilized and allows for the transfer of power
Transfer of Power
DOWN SWING
Down swing in reference to batting, is the beginning of power transfer. Down swing cause muscles to transfer upper body power to the bat. Because you can hit the ball longer than you did, you can overload the system with this technique and build power and explosiveness in your bat speed.
Contact Zones
HITTING PHASE
This is the “spring” that takes your shots off the ground and over the boundary. Hitting angle is the main performance metric most batsman strive for however training it in combination with all other elements is key. This phase will build Power Hitting strength/power as well as overall bat speed for all other shots as well.
Over / Under Training for Hitting Shape
Often compared to other skills, this is the ability of our body to “adjust quickly” to hit variation balls by maintaining original shape. In this phase we focus on full range of motion to improve overall mobility. We also train reactivity with limited body movements to generate more power from the base.
Core Stability & Rotational Power
Most Power Hitters in a team are usually the ones who have the ability to maintain strength, power, speed through out a game. This phase focuses on developing core stability & rotational power by stimulating muscles firing sequence to create serious power.
Lower Body & Upper Body Explosion
You can improve your power hitting instantly by first improving your lower body & upper body strength. Day by day you will focus on a new power hitting technique so you can gradually perfect each element of the course of the program. Combined with the performance training, you’ll be adding distance & power on to your shots day after day.
